Shared Yacht Ownership provides a way for you to have a capital interest in a new boat without being 100% financially responsible for it. The concept assumes that you will be using the vessel for only a fraction of a year; so why pay for it while it just sits at the dock? Also, when you want to use your boat, you don’t want to spend your precious time cleaning and maintaining her, do you? The Ruby Yachts Shared Yacht Ownership Program solves these two problems.
With Shared Yacht Ownership you will receive a 20% interest (share) in Ruby I LLC, which will be the owner of Ruby I. The interest will entitle you to 56 days (8 weeks worth) a year of rent-free use of Ruby I. Use your days anytime you want, subject to availability. You pay only for your fuel, dockage and food expenses while you're out.* Although you share in the normal expense of maintaining Ruby I, when your share is paid for (either with a cash purchase or through personal financing) you continue to enjoy her “company” for just a few hundred maintenance/ management expense dollars per month. It's very similar to a deeded timeshare condominium, except this condominium floats and travels!
Ruby I comes to you as a turnkey vessel, complete with electronics, appliances, dishes/cookware, furnishings, linens, dinghy and a full tank of fuel. Simply start the twin engines, set your course, and you're on your way!

The only exception to this would be in the
unlikely event of a premature major engine
failure, or something of that sort, after the
applicable warranties have expired. And
then, you are still limiting your obligation
to only 20% of the cost.
VESSEL AVAILABILITY
Use of Ruby I is based on 56 days (8 weeks) per full calendar year, with the first year being prorated from the time of purchase to the end of the year. On January 1 of every year each owner will be credited with the time allotted for that year. Days cannot be held over from year to year. Days/weeks on Ruby I will be selected on a first-come-first-served basis, and will typically run a week at a time beginning on Saturday at 9:00 AM and ending on Friday at 5:00 PM.
Shorter blocks of time may be available on a week or less notice, subject to a $165.00 per stay housekeeping and management charge. This charge covers washing and cleaning the vessel inside and out, clean dishes, clean linens, checking fluid levels, etc. This ensures that Ruby I is in tip-top shape each time she is taken out. You will always want her clean and healthy in order to minimize the chances of anything spoiling your fun.
Also, instead of using all of your time yourself, you may choose to make Ruby I available for charter. Ruby Yachts will act as your Charter Broker -- handling all of the paperwork, collection and disbursement of deposits and charter fees and check-out/check-in service -- for the industry standard rate of 15% of the charter fee.
